death is no reason for your enlightenment

just a quick outpouring. not of sadness or rage, or grief or overwhelming gratitude at this point, but a general feeling of angst? because i sense the kind of hypocrisy that borders, albeit thinly, around what-has-been, what-has-happened, things made so flesh and real that it is simply is a marriage of convenience that you collude with the understanding. it's funny how it takes something monumental to happen for perspective to be gained. can you say the same years ago, despite knowing the same truths? can you speak with so much maturity of thought and 'balance' back then? it's funny how higher sensing only comes with big events. when really, it was all laid out, flesh as fuck all along. so suddenly, consensus is felt, understandings understood, feelings placated? fuck you. and to those who ride on the fact that Singapore is all about material wealth and places no support or investment in the cultural or artistic currency, fuck you too. this is no fucking utopia(to you, but it is, in many ways, one to me), so count yourselves lucky you have a roof over your fuckin head.

“To understand Singapore and why it is what it is, you’ve got to start off with the fact that it’s not supposed to exist and cannot exist.”- Lee Kuan Yew
