cars with a chance of dust

it has been noted that cars around our sunny island have been blanketed with a thick fog of dust these days. just this morning, the family has observed several cars around clouded in a cloak of ashen powder. not the fine kind of course, but splotches of it here and there, once watermarks now replaced by patches of dirt. is it perhaps a sign of the immense construction taking place nation-wide? or the winds of our region blowing gusts of sand and earth and dust from somewhere else around? or are the cars hinting that there are too many of their own counterparts around? diesel-fueled automobiles clamouring for space on this tiny land, fumes and dirt lifted from the ground and bonded to steel and glass...

why are cars wearing clothes?
why is the dust settling?
