taking the mickey outta things

These are the people on the streets of Helsinki.

Sandra (17)
"I buy every pair of shoes that make me laugh. These Reebok sneakers I bought in Denmark.I collect children's backpacks. The uglier the better. I make all my jewellery myself. My jeans are from Vero Moda sale, the t-shirt from Urban Outfitters. The must-item for next summer: a bum bag."

Emmi (20)
"I designed and made the dress for a school project. The starting point was rococo style. The figures imitate the shape of teeth. The dress is made of recycled linen and upholstery leather. The bag is made of an old fur hat. Christopher Kane SS08 collection, layers and contrasts inspire me. For my thesis I'm making clothes of leather and tights

Eva (85)
"I like all things feminine. I like clothes and like to make them myself, too. Clothes and the dress as a whole are important. I like to wear hats. Colours need to tone in. I only buy good quality materials. I like colours because they give nice variety. Violet and pink are my favourite colour.

These people are so amazing and inspiring, they bring fashion to a whole new level that i guess is infathomable by mere normal beings. The first picture, for instance, made me chuckle to myself. I love her attitude of not taking herself and fashion too seriously. And the fact that they all have so much to say, it just goes to show that it goes beyond the physical but seeps right down to their ideaology of art, life and beauty. There is so so much leeway for expression and creativity there, its just sick.

All i can say is, finnish people represent the epitomy of cool. Dont anyhow use cool okay.
