there's a danger that its all too beautiful 1.10

1.10
turkey Dec 08'.
frigid. stark. beautiful. vulnerable. vast. lonely.
long overdue, i know. if i keep at it, there'd be more to come..

this is 1/10 that i tampered with using ps.
i really do like how they turned out.
its as if i left a permanent imprint on these endlessly majestic scapes and heighten the sense each image manages to stir in me.

i guess its my way of making an assault on its overpowering, infinite nature.

anyway,
i watched 'the first apocalypse' on history channel yesterday.
i dont like seeing the projected view of the earth in the solar system and all the planets with respect to it.
it might be liberating to some but for me, its like staring death in the face. cold cold death.
its like a black box with spheres floating, except its not a box, its just a sea of black boundlessness.

suspension is a scary thing.

goodnight.

he spews genius, thats all that matters

before i get swept into the hectic throes of the week ahead, this is something i have to post-

"There is a hurricane ablowing and just by knowing what you know, you have an advantage to the blind morons that surround you everyday. However not everyone can be saved. Ancient proverb: don't bother telling the TRUTH to your friend because he already knows and don't bother telling the TRUTH to your enemy because he won't believe you. Civilize those you can and fuck the rest. There are too many people in this world. It is not our responsibility to be constantly cleaning up after the weak-minded. Nature will eventually run its course and those too stupid to live will fortunately be crushed beneath the wheels of our progress. Assume your individuality. Culture can rob you of your uniqueness. That's how stereotypes exist, and not without reason. Anyone too wrapped up in the sheep mentality of their ethnicity can never truly express themselves as individuals. READ, Watch, LISTEN, DO what you want. BUT BE WARNED! You cannot have this freedom at no cost. You must pay in responsibility. If you listen to MARILYN MANSON and MURDER your FAMILY then you will go to jail. That's reality. If you decide to commit suicide for a song- SO LONG SUCKER! That kind of thinking has no place in our movement. Right now as a Family, as an Army we are limited as a minority. Laws bind us. But it is important to remember the law is only what is popular. Not whats right or wrong. Marilyn Manson rejects conventional morality and society's self-serving standards. When WE become the majority, we will decide who doesn't belong. As misanthropes and throw-away lods we will not submit to the mainstream. You will become it. And America should be very, very afraid. I AM YOU."
-Marilyn Manson

if i had to have a bible, for now- it would be a book of quotes which i use to scribble down any great lines i come across and want to remember.
this is undoubtedly one i wd have to dedicate a page for..

he spews genius, & thats all that matters.

hang tight people.

you can't find the truth, you just pick the lie you like the best

"I view my job as being someone who is supposed to piss people off. I don't want to be just one-of-the-guys. I don't want to be just a smiling face you see on television presenting some vapid kind of easily-digestible garbage."

"i think art is about creation, so it is spirituality. forget about religion, whatever you're doing, as long as you're making something, putting it in the world, that to me is spirituality."

"society has traditionally always tried to find scapegoats for its problems. well, here I am."

"where would you like to live?
your dream world, or your real world?
if you could live in the middle, thats what we'd like to do.."

"you have to be what you do."

"i m just realising i cant create a crazier metaphor than what i am already living so art made me reaccept myself cos i started to get to a place where i didnt like or believe in myself."

"people always say you have a responsibility being a role model, role models are mannequins. i am a role villian. you have to fuck shit up, you have to be bad, you have to take alot of abuse"

When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed.”

“When you're taught to love everyone, to love your enemies, then what value does that place on love?”

“It's the whole Nietzsche philosophy of you are your own God. That's why I debase myself in the concerts and tell people to spit on me. I'm saying to them 'You are no different from me'.

"Marilyn Monroe wasn't even her real name, Charles Manson isn't his real name, and now, I'm taking that to be my real name.
But what's real?
You can't find the truth, you just pick the lie you like the best."

"They'll see it. And it doesn't matter if they don't. It's only Rock 'n' Roll. But I do intend to move more into the Mainstream. Marilyn Manson is just the First phase."

"I totally believe in monogamy with the right person."
- Marilyn Manson (all of the above)

long live marilyn.

visual+textual fixation

finally, this i can call a decent magazine fix.. something that hasnt happened for a while now.
the latest issues of TANK & POP are amazing.
i always get TANK, but this is the first issue of POP i have gotten. (dont quite fancy the name of the mag and so i normally dont bother browsing it.)

this issue is diff. the cover alone caused a skip in my heart. there are two covers out there, but i opted for the more colourful and textured one, tho the other cover is really superb as well.
[caution- heavy imagery, which you can prob tell is self-shot :s]

new format! spiral bound! didnt quite take to it but i realised it makes reading less of a chore+

say 'WOW'.

& the supplement that came with it

+loads of awesome interviews n articles n more spreads!
i iz a happi gurs 4 now.

make them laugh, make them remember their youth

"When I look into their eyes, I srsly feel like there is ‘evil’ inside of these people."

"...We must applaud Kanye for silencing the sweet, yet poisonous essence of Taylor Swift. Kanye West is a simple, raw human being. When it comes to ‘love and relationships’, he is not interested in creating some sort of meaningful quirky bullshit. He is a man who wants ass and titties. He is an honest man."

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

btw, the article is titled-
"It takes a socially transcendent moment to remind us what makes life worth living. Kanye West is a valuable member of society"

i leave you with that. bye~

merrily merrily merrily marilyn, life is but a dream

the man is a legend.

one fine day long time ago, i decided to youtube marilyn manson and see what exactly is up with this freak of a freak.
i dont listen to his songs nor really get them, but interviews or any form of spoken thing he's on, i watch.
and revel.
and go 'wow' what a brilliant and superb mind this guy has.

what dark side?
everyone has a dark side.
the mildest and meekest especially.
he manifests it, as-is, thats all.
no hidden agendas, no illusions.
he is who he is.
i was actually scribbling stuff he said down during interviews.
there are too many, far too many quote-worthy ones to share..
so i shan't post any. watch it yourself if you're interested...

i dunno what came over me, i started watching nursery rhyme vids

they are the most philosophical things ever.
dont you think its great?

12 o'clock p.m

ew. i just realised how much pre-meditated stuff there can be hidin in these murky waters.
.
how impressive a facade one can put forth in this realm
its so pathethic, so so pathethic.

my watch's 12am alarm just went off.
its some familiar classical piano tune i have no idea what.

my other talking watch died on me today, after having been miraculously revived yesterday since its prolonged period of malfunction, and supposed death.

i didnt realise anything strange about it until it sounded in class yesterday-
" 2 o'clock pm"
my teacher and classmates laughed.
"2 o'clock pm"??
it was then that i realised this blatent and inherent flaw in it.
well, its not a flaw, just a glitch.

its so warped i kinda like it.
but so embarrassing when it sounds in the library.

well, for 5$ i cant complain..

i told c it takes after its owner.
she was so amused by it and my description of the incident that she laughed till she couldn't breathe, or so she said.

i hope it surprises me tmr again..

burs~

won't you shabop shalom with me, under the ol' banana tree?

"Our story beings on a Sunday afternoon, just between Halfway Tree and Spanish Town, where a young boy, not yet the cock o'the walk that he would soon become, was lying on the grass and taking in the sweet and sensuous scent of Hibiscus that languidly lilted along the summer breeze.

It was at this precise moment that he saw her. Her walk was soft and delicate, with a thaumaturgical touch that only a rabbi's daughter could have. Before their eyes had even met, her luminous lips had already lured him in. Salvation winked with the promise of a Bris held at pinnacle and a congregation of sage's bunny hopping and chicken dancing to Yiddish Mento.

Then their eyes linked, an aeon blinked, Amharic vows were scryed upon their hearts. Just to think, this could be with the frenectomy and a few words of love...

My Shabop Shalom Baby, won't you Shabop Shalom with me, under the old banana tree?
My sweet telavivian lambs bread, my heart can act as an emollient and you'll never, ever say, "Get Bent!" Noooo, no, no!

Todamamatodamamatodamamatodamama da da da da x 2

All the signals that I'm sendin
I'll keep sending them and on the constanttillionth time,
I'll make you mine (Yes, I swear I will...)

Your sweet supple breasts are golden ghettos, soft statues in stilettos.
Two wise men instead of three.

Whenever I'm in a foul mood,
I gotta' see you in your Talmud and so happy it makes me,
you wanna know who, who wrote the Book of Job?
She wants to know, "Who, who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls?

Well I did, I did.
Yes.Yes, I did, I did.
I did, I did.
I did, I did.

Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia can be a fun ordeal.
I swear by Solomon's seal.

Honey, when it comes to love,
there's a fire in the deep end of my heart, givin' me the Heebie-Jeebies.
Ya see, I know the land of wood and waters, merely fodder for loves slaughter.
And darling,
I've watched you cake-walk to the Immaculate Conception for far too long.

I'm Livicated to you, yes.
Ahava RabaAhava Raba for you
We're in Heaven
We're in Heaven, it's true.
I'm ascending...I'm ascending tonight with you"
- 'Shabop Shalom', Devendra Banhart

my imaginary letter to mr banhart wd prob go-

dear devendra,
you are so genius.
you seem like a never ending scroll of wisdom.
you are so otherworldly.
can i marry you?
i dont mind living in the topanga canyon crib all day wiping the dust off your many prized possessions, anything.
i can polish your guitars and give you a good shave if need be.
you could make me some nice jewellery once in a while, when you are free.
you could use me in your videos.
i'd be more kickass than natalie's indian goddess.
i am genuinely sad you and natalie broke up.
are you with anyone now?

p.s megapuss is sounding fine:)
& i see you have a tattoo on your butt?
that is way hot.

& where did all that hair on your face go??:(
i thought the caveman look was perfect.
but i still adore you.

love, charlene

our mighty, weary bodies

i find myself going back to this song all. the. time.
the live version is so good.

its such a universally identifiable song, no?

The body breaks
And the body is fine
I'm open to yours
And i'm open to mine

The body aches
And that ache takes it time
But you'll get over yours
And i'll get over mine

And the sun will shine
And the moon will rise up
The body calls
Yeah, the body, it calls out
It whispers at first
But it ends with a shout

The body burns
Yeah, the body burns strong
Until mine is with yours
Then mine will burn on

My flash sings out
It sings, "come pour me out"

The body sways
Like the wind on a swing
A bridge through a hoop
Or a lake through a ring

The body stays
And then the body moves on
And i'd really rather not dwell on
When yours will be gone

But within the dark
There is a shine
One tiny spark
That's yours and mine

soldier on- you, and you and you.

take me to the Iguazu Falls

Interviewed about this Chinese film for the radio station WBAI 99.5 FM, New York, this is what he (wkw) had to say about on-again, off-again lovers Lai Yui-Fai (Tony Leung Chiu-Wai) and Ho Po-Wing (Leslie Cheung Kwok-Wing) in "Happy Together".

“Well, to me, [their] relationship seems like [that between] a plane and
an airport. The character Leslie Cheung is to me like a plane. His nature is going to land sometimes and going to take off sometimes.”

“And the character of Tony Leung seems to me just like an airport. But sometimes, when this airport refuses to be an airport anymore and the plane has no place to land, this is the end of the relationship.” This metaphor about aircraft and airports and takeoffs and landings fits snugly into Happy Together, which touches on flight and travel and distance and the yearning for home, all within the context of relationships. As the film begins, Lai and Ho are in Buenos Aires, trying to get to Iguazu Falls – and along the way, having lost their way, their on-again relationship becomes off again. “I never did find out where we were that day,” Lai tells us. “He said it’s boring to be with me, that we should take a break, and perhaps start over again some day.”

i watched this film yesterday, in three parts(unfortunately).
i fell asleep midway.
i might have to watch it again.
the cinematography and art direction was brilliant, as always.
the photogenic quality of the scenes was just screaming to be appreciated on its own, each still a story and unique moment by itself.
i have never thought of tony leung as being all that hot. this one made me sway a tad bit.
plus, chang chen has a minor role in this.
i have never seen him play this upbeat and chirpy of a character, it made me chuckle a little.
plane and airport. hmm....

"people say i'm funny, usually i am just sarcastic"

"Because I'm like old school.
Not old school like 1950s, but old school like ancient greece or something.
Which is weird and probably not sexy."
- n.c

better than some 'old school' people throw around fashionably..

do pen-pals still exist?

i have never found jokes to be funny.
"joke jokes" turn me off.

i still dont understand why people laugh when someone falls or trips and land on their faces.

till tomorrow.

conundrum has 'con' and 'nun' and 'drum' and 'rum' in it

word of the day: co⋅nun⋅drum [kuh-nuhn-druhm]
pearfect.

maybe its not so much to resist something but to resist your resistances by embracing it, seeing beyond it. dang!

i dont care to make sense here.
i think i should have stopped caring from long ago.

"ain't scottish, he's scouse."
thanks stranger.

this internet place is making it impossible for me to get any shit done:(

only diamonds are forever. dont we all know that already?

i want to know your devices.
